McMaster University COVID-19 Regulations

McMaster’s approach to the COVID-19 pandemic continuously evolves in line with the provincial health restriction. As a consequence McMaster University implemented certain measurements and policies. For a full list of measurements please visit the McMaster Health & Safety website.

As of May 1, 2022, the University will pause its vaccination requirement, however the mask mandate has been extended to the end of May 2022.

McMasters Vaccination Mandate:

All students, faculty and staff must have uploaded a proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 to MacCheck or have an approved human rights exemption. All visitors have to be fully vaccinated to attend a McMaster location. Visitors must use the McMaster Safety App to provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination at least one hour before their first time attending a McMaster location. For more information regarding McMaster’s vaccination policy, please visit the website.

Masking:

The University continues to follow current provincial government requirements for masking. Provincial masking guidance remains unchanged from the fall term. For more information, please visit https://covid19.mcmaster.ca/campus-health-safety/#tab-content-masking

Distancing:

  • Physical distancing requirements are no longer required for indoor instructional spaces. (e.g., classrooms, laboratories, libraries, in-person experiential learning etc.).
  • Physical distancing continues to be required in all other indoor non-instructional spaces on campus, including offices, athletics, cafeterias, hallways, and other areas.
