We are thrilled to announce that the 2024 CCUWiP will be held from January 19-21, 2024 in Montreal, Quebec; organized by a joint team of McGill and Université de Montréal students. All conference materials will be made available in both English and French; talks/posters in either English or French are welcome.
Applications to attend CCUWiP 2024 will be accepted shortly through an online form that will be posted on the CCUWiP website. You will be asked to indicate in the form if you are interested in making a presentation at CCUWiP 2024 (in person oral or poster, or virtual oral).
Details regarding abstract submission and delegate registration will be available later. Students will have the option to register to attend virtually, or to register and apply to attend in-person. The form for Sponsorship, and registration for the Graduate Studies fair will be opened shortly.
Please visit the CCUWiP website for more information about the 2024 CCUWiP to be held in Montreal from January 19-21.
The annual CCUWiP is a national conference for undergraduate students studying physics or related majors. The CCUWiP’s goal is to encourage undergraduate students from under-represented groups to pursue their physics education by providing them with the opportunity to experience a professional conference, gather information about graduate school and professions in physics, and to network with other undergraduate physicists as well as a diverse and inclusive group of physicists of all ages with whom they can share experiences, advice, and ideas.
Through a collaboration between the CAP and the APS, the CCUWiP (Canadian) conference and the CUWiP (American) conferences are held at the same time and share a keynote speaker selected by an organizing committee comprised of representatives from each of the conference sites. For more information about the US-based conferences, please visit the APS CUWiP website.

We are very pleased to announce that the 2024 CCUWiP will be hosted jointly by McGill University and the Université de Montréal. The local organizing committee is hopeful that sufficient support will be secured to allow this year’s event to be held in a hybrid format (an in-person conference that will be accessible remotely).
CCUWiP 2024 will be taking place this January 19-21 in Montréal, Québec. So, save the dates and stay tuned for more details!
We are also very pleased to advise that the 2025 CCUWiP will be hosted jointly by a team from the University of Alberta, the University of Calgary, and Lethbridge University.
The CAP encourages Canadian undergraduate students (particularly those who might be interested in hosting the 2026 CCUWiP) to consider attending the 2024 CCUWiP hosted jointly by McGill University and the Université de Montréal!
If the APS holds a 2024 online CUWiP, Canadian students will have the opportunity to participate in it as well (there is an attendance fee). The online APS CUWiP is an excellent virtual experience, with a separate program and networking opportunities (unfortunately attendance by Canadian students at the in-person CUWiP is not possible due to NSF grant restrictions). Check the APS CUWiP website for details of all of their CUWiP-related activities
The 2025 Conferences for Undergraduate Women in Physics is expected to be held January 17-19, 2025 in Alberta. We are, therefore, accepting expressions of interest to host the 2026 conference (in person, virtual, or hybrid). We encourage any student group interested in hosting a future CCUWiP to participate in the 2024 CCUWiP (see above). Expressions of interest in hosting the 2026 CCUWiP should be submitted by November 30, 2024. Full applications for the 2026 CCUWiP are due by 5 pm EDT on Friday, February 23rd, 2024. |
