Eligibility Requirements
Nominees must be Canadian residents, must be a current physics teacher, and must have taught physics in a Canadian high school and/or CEGEP for a minimum of five (5) years.
Evaluation Criteria
The awards honour physics teachers in Canadian high schools or CEGEPs who have a good understanding of their subject and who possess an exceptional ability to communicate their knowledge and understanding in such a way as to motivate their students to high academic achievement in physics. Evaluation will be based on documentation submitted in the application package and will focus on, but will not be limited to, the following:
- Impact on students in physics
- Involvement or leadership of activities that support students’ physics learning
- Teaching traits and professional development in physics and physics pedagogy
- Support for other physics teachers and/or leadership in the physics teaching community
