HSCC teacher membership is open to individuals who self-identify as physics teachers at a Canadian high school, CEGEP, or college (college refers to non-degree-granting post-secondary institutions such as technical colleges or community colleges). The minimum requirements for HSCC teacher membership are:
- is employed primarily as a physics teacher in a Canadian high school, CEGEP or college; or
- is a former physics teacher who is now working as an administrator in a Canadian high school, CEGEP or college; or
- has other experience or qualifications related to the teaching of physics deemed acceptable by the Membership and Affiliateship Committee.
HSCC teacher members enjoy substantially reduced membership fees. They are entitled to all the rights and privileges of the Association, including holding office on the Advisory Council and Board of Directors and voting for positions on these two bodies.
Members and affiliates enjoy a suite of benefits that support their informational, professional, educational, networking, and career development. In addition, members receive substantial discounts for the annual CAP Congress, for joint memberships with other organizations, and benefit from reciprocal agreements with other physics societies. Members can also take advantage of special membership rates negotiated with insurance suppliers.
