CAP Congress student poster competition abstracts due March 30 / student activities at Congress

Post-deadline abstracts invited

If you haven’t already submitted an abstract for the 2025 CAP Congress at the University of Saskatchewan (June 8-13), post-deadline abstracts are now invited.

While you can submit for oral presentation, these will only be considered if there are slots still available once the pre-deadline abstracts have been scheduled.  If none exist, your submission will be considered for poster presentation instead.

For the Best Student Paper Competition, only submissions for poster competition are being invited (oral competition submissions are closed); the deadline for poster competition submissions is Sunday, March 30th.  Get yours in now!

Student-related events at Congress

There are several student-related activities being organized for the 2025 CAP Congress by the Student Advisory Council.  These include:

  • Student Icebreaker events. Sunday, June 8, 6pm -9pm and Monday, June 9th (lunch hour)
    • Kick off the congress with an exciting Student Icebreaker, where you’ll get to meet fellow students from similar disciplines, exchange cultures, and form connections that could last well beyond the event. Expect engaging activities, fun conversations, and a chance to build friendships that will shape your congress experience. Whether you’re here to network, share ideas, or just have a great time, this is the perfect way to start the journey!
    • Missed Day One? No worries! We’ll have a mini-icebreaker on Monday, June 9th, during lunch so you can still meet new people and join the fun.
  • Student symposia in conjunction with Private Sector Physics Symposium (DPSR/DPA). All day event on symposia day, Wednesday, June 11th.
    • The symposia provide insights into the careers of physicists working outside academia and offer insights and advice into the possible pathways and training needed to transition your physics training into an engaging and rewarding career outside of academia
    • Included in the symposium day schedule is an interactive Panel Session, hosted by the Dir. of Private Sector Physics

They are also looking into holding a special session on Tuesday evening following the poster session where students can find out more about the Student Advisory Council and have another opportunity to network or socialize with your peers across Canada.

We hope you will join us at CAP Congress 2025, whether as a presenter or as a delegate participant.  We look forward to seeing you there!
