NSERC seeking input of research community on two consultations

NSERCThe CAP-NSERC Liaison Committee would like to draw your attention to
the following two consultations launched by NSERC. Participation from the Canadian research community is valuable, so the Committee encourages you to take a few minutes to provide your views.

Canada Research Coordinating Committee consultation
Deadline: August 27, 2018

The Canada Research Coordinating Committee (CRCC) is launching a national consultation to reinvigorate Canada’s support for science and to position Canada as a global leader in research excellence. This consultation will focus on three priorities:

  1. creating a new tri-agency fund to support international, multidisciplinary, high-risk, and rapid-response research that generates new knowledge;
  2. strengthening equity, diversity and inclusion in research; and
  3. supporting early career research.

The online consultation portal is now live and will be open to all Canadians until August 27, 2018.

Made-in-Canada Athena SWAN consultation
August 9 (EN) and August 10 (FR)

Informational briefings on a “made in Canada” approach to an Athena SWAN initiative will be held on August 9th (English) and 10th (French) at 1:00PM EST. To learn more and sign up click here. The presentation will be available on NSERC’s website the following week.
