CAP member Dr. Robert Boily, C.Q., Ph.D., FRSC, FAPS, FInstP, FEIC, FAAAS, (Inforex) has been elected to be the next president of the Academy of Sciences of Canada, one of three Academies that make up the Royal Society of Canada. He will serve a 4-year term, one year as President Elect (2024-2025) and three years as President (2025-2028).

Founded in 1882, the Royal Society of Canada comprises the Academy of Science, the Academy of Social Sciences, and the Academy of Arts and Humanities. Its mission is to recognize scholarly, research and artistic excellence, to advise governments and organizations, and to promote a culture of knowledge and innovation in Canada and with other national academies around the world.
