The CAP congratulates Canadian physicist, Jeff Dahn, Dalhousie University, who was awarded a 2022 Killam Prize. Jeff Dahn is a towering thought leader in battery science working to make lithium-ion batteries last decades. He is recognized worldwide as a pioneer of the batteries now used to power everything from power tools to electric vehicles.
These prizes, which are among most distinguished research awards in Canada, were established by the Killam Trusts thanks to a gift and bequest from Mrs. Dorothy J. Killam in memory of her husband, Izaak Walton Killam, and his outstanding achievements.
The prizes celebrate and value the researchers who contribute to building Canada’s future and increasing the scientific attainment of Canadians through research excellence.
