About Us:
The Division of Plasma Physics of the Canadian Association of Physicists (CAP-DPP) is dedicated to the advancement of theoretical and experimental plasma physics on a broad front. Plasma physics is a highly diverse domain with many applications in technology, ranging from materials processing to energy research, as well as new and emerging biomedical applications. The training plasma physics students receive enables them to work in diverse areas of high technology during their careers. The CAP-DPP seeks to unite plasma research groups across the country, in both academia and industry.
Our Mission/Activities:
The CAP-DPP supports activities in the following areas of plasma physics:
- Fundamental Plasma Physics Theory and Experiment
- Laser Plasma Interactions
- Plasma Materials Processing
- Plasma Fusion Research (magnetic confinement, inertial confinement, and other approaches)
- Biomedical Applications of Plasmas
