Currently, Murat is involved in research in physical optics. He works on space-time wave-packets, which are classically entangled light waves.
“I am truly honoured to receive the scholarship named after Boris Stoicheff – a scientist who excelled both in academic career and community service. Being recipient of this scholarship is great motivation for further academic achievements and public service.” – Murat Yessenov
The CAP Foundation (CAPF) and the Optica Foundation (formerly OSA Foundation) partnered to establish the Boris P. Stoicheff Memorial Graduate Scholarship as a memorial to Boris P. Stoicheff, an eminent, internationally renowned laser spectroscopist who also served as President of the Canadian Association of Physicists (1983-84) and the Optical Society of America (1976). The inaugural scholarship was awarded in 2012.
