British Columbia and Yukon

The Canadian Association of Physicists (CAP) is pleased to announce the 2018 CAP Award for Excellence in Teaching High School/CEGEP Physics (British Columbia and Yukon) is awarded to Giselle Lawrence, Brentwood College School, for her creative use of visuals and technology to teach students the basics of physics, her work in mentoring physics teachers, and her development work in bringing science to Peru.

Prairies and Northwest Territories

The Canadian Association of Physicists (CAP) is pleased to announce the 2018 CAP Award for Excellence in Teaching High School/CEGEP Physics (Prairies and Northwest Territories) is awarded to Thana Rahim, Ecole St. Patrick High School, for her innovation in promoting physics in Canada’s north, bringing physics into the Yellowknife community, and her ability to encourage so many students in pursuing careers in science and engineering.

Quebec and Nunavut

The Canadian Association of Physicists (CAP) is pleased to announce the 2018 CAP Award for Excellence in Teaching High School/CEGEP Physics (Quebec and Nunavut) is awarded to Jason Leblanc, Centre matapédien d’études collégiales, for his work in bringing real-life physics into the classroom, from measuring the speed of hockey pucks to developing clean energy projects.
