Congratulations to Prof. Gilles Brassard, Université de Montréal (OC, ONQ), who has been named a recipient of the prestigious Turing Award in computer science. He shares the award with Charles Bennett, IBM Research. This award celebrates their work establishing the foundations of quantum information science.
The ACM A.M. Turing Award, often referred to as the “Nobel Prize in Computing,” carries a $1 million US prize with financial support provided by Google, Inc. The award is named for Alan M. Turing, the British mathematician who articulated the mathematical foundations of computing.
