To enhance scientific relations and improve communications between physicists in Canada and
Japan, the Physical Society of Japan (JPS) and the Canadian Association of Physicists (CAP)
agree to extend the following reciprocal benefits to the members of their respective societies.
Members of CAP may :
(a) submit papers to JPS meetings with the same privileges and limitations as JPS members
(b) register for JPS meetings at JPS member rates
(c) subscribe to JPS’s Physics publications at the same rate as JPS members
Members of JPS may :
(a) submit papers to CAP conferences with the same privileges and limitations as
CAP members
(b) register for CAP conferences at CAP member rates
(c) subscribe to the CAP’s magazine, Physics in Canada, at the same rate as offered to
members of other Canadian scientific societies with whom the CAP has joint memberships.
The JPS and CAP will encourage scientific contacts between physicists in their respective
countries by exchanging information about their activities, particularly about their education,
conference and publications activities.
The President of JPS (or a suitable delegate) will be welcome to attend the CAP Congress and the
President of the CAP (or a suitable delegate) will be welcome to attend the JPS meeting, with the
registration fees waived.
This agreement will come into immediate effect on signature by both the President of the Physical
Society of Japan and the President of the Canadian Association of Physicists and shall remain in
force until either the Physical Society of Japan or the President of the Canadian Association of
Physicists gives 12 months written notice of termination or of a wish to renegotiate the
agreement.
