The award is a one-time grant of USD 5,000.<\/small><\/big><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><big><small>\u00a0<\/small><\/big><big><small>More information and the application is available at the following link:\u00a0<\/small><\/big><big><small><a title=\"https:\/\/ahepa.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/mavroyiannis-scholarship.pdf\" href=\"https:\/\/ahepa.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/mavroyiannis-scholarship.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-cke-saved-href=\"https:\/\/ahepa.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/mavroyiannis-scholarship.pdf\">https:\/\/ahepa.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/mavroyiannis-scholarship.pdf<\/a><\/small><\/big><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><big><small>The deadline for applications is August 31, 2020.<\/small><\/big><\/span><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Vanier Scholarships<\/h3>\n<p>The Government of Canada launched the <a href=\"https:\/\/vanier.gc.ca\/en\/nomination_process-processus_de_mise_en_candidature_overview.html\">Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships (Vanier CGS)<\/a> program in 2008 to strengthen Canada&#8217;s ability to attract and retain world-class doctoral students and establish Canada as a global centre of excellence in research and higher learning. Vanier Scholars demonstrate leadership skills and a high standard of scholarly achievement in graduate studies in the social sciences and humanities, natural sciences and\/or engineering and health.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Scope: <\/strong>Up to 166 scholarships are awarded annually,\u00a0total of up to 500 scholarships are active at any time.<br \/>\n<strong>Value: <\/strong>$50,000 per year<br \/>\n<strong>Duration: <\/strong>3 years (non-renewable)<\/p>\n<p>Scholarships are distributed equally between the three federal granting agencies:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"content-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cihr-irsc.gc.ca\/e\/193.html\">Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR)<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nserc-crsng.gc.ca\/index_eng.asp\">Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC)<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sshrc-crsh.gc.ca\/home-accueil-eng.aspx\">Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC)<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Rhodes Scholarship<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rhodeshouse.ox.ac.uk\/scholarships\/the-rhodes-scholarship\/\">The Rhodes Scholarships<\/a>, widely considered the world\u2019s most prestigious international scholarship program, support outstanding students from around the world in postgraduate study at the University of Oxford. Established in the will of Cecil Rhodes, the program aims to nurture public-spirited leaders for the world&#8217;s future, and to promote international understanding and peace. Rhodes Scholars are selected on the basis of outstanding intellect\u00a0and character, capacity and instincts for high leadership, demonstrated rigor and commitment to service and extracurricular activity, with a focus on effecting positive change in the world.<\/p>\n<p>A class of 100 Scholars is selected each year from over 60 countries around the world.\u00a0<span data-mce-mark=\"1\">A Rhodes Scholarship covers all University and College fees, a personal stipend and one economy class airfare to Oxford at the start of the Scholarship, as well as an economy flight back to the student&#8217;s home country at the conclusion of the Scholarship.<\/span> Successful candidates in the upcoming competition will undertake their programs of choice at Oxford in the fall.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; Mavroyannis Scholarship The Mavroyannis Scholarship for graduate studies in Theoretical Physics or Physical Chemistry is now available through the American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association (AHEPA).
