A one-day forum on National Strategy and Technical Capability

On Monday, June 22nd, 2026, the Canadian Association of Physicists (CAP) Division of Plasma Physics and the Center for Fusion Energy will host a full-day forum at the University of Ottawa to discuss Canada’s positioning for fusion energy.

As global energy demands rise, the role of fusion energy will become crucial to produce clean, baseload power. While fusion investment is accelerating worldwide, Canada remains the only G7 nation without a formal federal program or national strategy. This event will serve as a forum for researchers, industry stakeholders, and policy makers to assess Canadian capabilities, towards a coordinated national framework.
